WILLIAM R. BENTLEY is Professor of Forest Policy and Management, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He also is the Principal for Salmon Brook Associates in North Granby CT. Bentley has 34 years of experience in education, research, and operational activities. He has taught management, policy, and applied economics, has written over 100 articles, books, and special reports, and has worked extensively with outreach organizations. His focus on managing forest resources includes leadership and organization of the people who benefit from and who manage resources. Bill served on several forestry faculties, including Michigan and Yale, and he managed the Forestry Research Division of Crown Zellerbach Corporation. He worked for Winrock International form 1985 until 1994, serving as the first director of Winrock's Development Studies Center. Bill has extensive overseas experience gained over the past 15 years in several countries including India and New Zealand.
